Update: I ran for a four year term on the Carbon County Commission this past summer and amazingly enough - WON! There are five County Commissioners in Carbon County for the first time in its history, increased from three 2 yrs prior. Myself and fellow Commissioner Lindy Glode are also only the second and third women to ever be elected to the Commission in Carbon County's history. It is a very interesting, busy, and rewarding "job". I will give it my best!
Update: My involvement in the local "politics" and the Corbett Medical Foundation eventually forced me to quit my job at the medical clinic (someone had to lay on the sword they said...Ha!) My husband (whom I married in 8/96) & I purchased a garbage collection business in 2006 -Sunrise Sanitation Service, and keep ourselves busy with that. Before that he owned a logging contracting business which ended due to the mill closure and now the beetles are taking care of the trees. I became involved in the local politics in 1983 serving on the town council & numerous other boards/commissions and was involved with the PV Medical Board, Corbett Medical Foundation, & PV Community Center Fundraising Committee. I am still actively involed in the Valley Service Organization and am on the Board of Directors of the Carbon County Economic Development Corp and the Upper Platte River Solid Waste District Board. I went to NWCC in Powell and UW and received a BA in psychology but returned to Saratoga and never made a dime being a "shrink". Used the training alot, though.
